The SAG Awards brought all the Crayola colors out of their box last night.  Diane Lane, Claire Daines, Jane Krakowski and Christina Hendricks wore the most popular color, red.  Eva Longoria was a solitary coral orange.  Yellow wasn’t as big as it was last year with only two actresses, Marissa Tomei and Viola Davis representing it.  Green and teal were huge (ok huge for greens)!  Christina Applegate, Evan Rachel Wood, Dana Delaney, Melissa Leo and Alison Pil looked lovely in shades of emerald.  Only a few metallics and  memorable whites walked the red carpet this year.  Teri Hatcher wowed in white while Rosario Dawson and Emily Blunt glittered in silver.  Black of course was worn by a fair share of SAG attendees. If you wanted to stick out from the crowd it seemed like the easiest way to do so was to wear a non floor-length gown.  Only a handful of women bared knees last night including Katrina Bowden, Katie Holmes and Tina Fey. Who was best dressed?  I honestly can’t decide.   See the whole rainbow here.

Power To The People – Choice Awards

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

It’s beginning to feel a lot like AWARDS SEASON! People’s Choice Award winners, Kid Rock, Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, Robin Williams, Ellen DeGeneres, Christina Applegate, Dakota Fanning and Reese Witherspoon ham it up for an exclusive portrait by Getty Images’ Michael Caufield.  We were so happy to see a healthy Christina Applegate looking radiant in a jewel encrusted gown and can you believe Dakota Fanning is 15?  Below, winners Reese Witherspoon and Teri Hatcher do an obligatory high-five session with the lucky audience members in the front row. (I see your Christian Louboutin red soles!)  See more shots from the People’s Choice Awards here.

Eva Mendez is a ray of sunshine in chilly London for ‘The Spirit’ launch party at the Old Sorting Office, New Oxford Street.  She is is ahead of the pack considering Pantone’s announcement that color mimosa, 14-0848, a warm bold yellow would be the color of 2009.

Anyone who has been watching the runways or celebrity style knows that this bold yellow has been seeping into our consciousness for some time.  Terry Hatcher, Mariska Hargitay and Saffron Burrows all wore Mimosa-esque yellows at the Primetime Emmy awards in September.  They are three of many trendsetters who brought bright yellow to the forefront in 2008.  Take a look at them here.

While ABC’s hit show Desperate Housewives is known for its weekly hour of drama, drama, drama, off the set it seems these ladies really do get along. Constantly seen laughing, hugging and joking together at numerous events, it is nice to see their working relationships are playful as well. The season finale we’ve all be desperately waiting for is on this Sunday night at 9/8c. Thank you ladies for keeping all the drama off the red carpet and on Wisteria Lane where it belongs!
