Shooting and Living Green

Preparing for a “green” shoot…

For the past few weeks I have been researching eco-villages and methods of sustainable living in preparation for a shoot with Erik Snyder on green families and home life. For all of the research geeks out there I thought I’d share some of the interesting resources I’ve come across. First, a definition of an eco-village:

An amazing tool for locating eco-villages all over the world:

My new favorite green publication, I’m now a subscriber!

www.homepower.com

For the fashion-conscious greenie, a few top tips on greening your wardrobe from Tree Hugger:

A few zero energy homes – great potential shoot locations:

The goal of our shoot is to capture the community spirit of the early adopters of green living in a way that is compelling and identifiable to a broader audience. For example, gardens are very green:

Living a green life is perceived by many as inconvenient and foreign. I hope to show the smaller steps that can be taken in daily life and portray how those steps can actually improve one’s quality of life.

I think the images below are good starts as visual references. What do you think? All suggestions for shoot development welcome!
