If you’d like to see fashion through an intellectual lens, you might want to stop by The Metropolitan Museum of Art from May 6th to August 9th to view: Model As Muse: Embodying Fashion .   The exhibit’s gala opened May 4th with appearances by Marc Jacobs, Kate Moss, Anna Wintour and Justin Timberlake.  Anyone who has whined about whether or not Kate Moss has any authority to design clothes for Top Shop might be enlightened.  The show examines how and why certain models embodied the spirit of designers when they did and how particular personalities reflected our cultural zeitgeist by era.

Topshop opened its doors to the public today at Broadway and Broome st. in Soho NYC.  There has been a lot of hype over this grand opening- including VIP parties the night before and promotional handouts all week.   British billionaire Sir Philip Green and model Kate Moss were the faces of the opening.  Being just a few blocks from the NY Getty office, we are especially excited for the new lunch break Topshop stop… Now, can we PLEASE get a NORDSTROM in The City?!

Moss: Mother Knows Best?

Friday, January 16th, 2009

Rumor has it that Kate Moss is expecting a baby, this time by Jamie Hince of “The Kills”.  The 34 year old model has avoided alcohol as of late, but has been seen smoking cigarettes.  The ex-waif does show a sliver of uncharacteristic “tummy” here, in a photo from the 14th of January but stripes can play tricks.  Will little Lila Grace have a sister soon?

New house, new look! Kate Moss has had a very busy January 16th. Not only did the über-model move into a new house (into the tony Primrose Hill section of London), today is also her 34th birthday. In route to her party, Moss debuted yet another covetable look wearing a funky white blouse paired with belly-button grazing high-waisted jeans and a Cher-inspired belt.

Mode Moss

Kate Moss wore her own printed chiffon tunic to the launch of her new TopShop clothing line at Barneys New York in New York City. Of course, Moss added her own stylish touches with gold and zebra strappy sandals, a pastel quilted clutch, and Moss-ever-the-stylist, chose to belt the tent-style look to show off her diminutive frame. While the lady of the hour chatted with fellow British model Agyness Deyn, guests checked out her designs which pay homage to her signature style featuring chiffon and cotton voile cocktail dresses, stylish printed t-shirts, and short-shorts all displayed in a charming living room style set-up.
