Who’s having some fun with our field editors? Dustin Hoffman!
Being a field editor, sometimes we work in remote offices that we set up, sometimes we work in others’ offices. But at premieres, we are right behind the photographers.
It’s hard to miss us all grouped together, sitting on the floor looking intently at our laptops. At almost every premiere, we get a couple people asking us what we are doing — or making jokes about it being a ‘hotspot’ area. Even celebrities get curious about us.
At this year’s BFI London Film Festival, Dustin Hoffman questioned our field editors.
Dustin Hoffman: What are you guys doing?
Getty Images Editor Brett Sykes: We are editing photos from the snappers at the premiere.
Dustin Hoffman: (Impressed) Back in the day, we would be working in the darkroom.
Getty Images Editor Brian Dayle: (Joking) Nah, we don’t do that anymore!!
I like to think we taught Dustin something new that day!
