The multi talented, actress, singer dancer, Lena Horne died this past weekend at the age of 92 in New York.  A Brooklyn girl,  Horne moved between Georgia and New York until she embraced performing at the age of 16 when she joined the chorus Line at Harlems famed Cotton Club. She starred in a couple of low budget musicals but she made her major motion picture studio debut in Panama Hattie, singing the title song, Stormy Weather. Facing an uphill battle against racism and conservatism in the Hollywood of the 1940s and 1950s, Horne was blacklisted.  Her disillusionment brought her back to the stage, where she performed on the nightclub circuit throughout Europe, The U.S. and Canada. In the 1960s her career changed direction yet again, on television performing on top name variety shows of the decade.
