It was another great Weekend In Vancouver! Great Britain won their first individual gold medal at a Winter Olympics in 30 years! WOO HOO — well done Amy Williams! I was lucky to get tickets from a fellow volunteer (Thanks Katie!) to go to the victory ceremony and even though there are about 5,000 maple leaf flags to every Union Jack, I was still there to represent!

I got a small taste of victory when I held my own gold medal during a VIP visit to the Royal Mint Pavilion (Thanks Sarah & Danni!) where the real Olympic and Paralympic medals are on display. For the first time ever, the medals are available to be manhandled by the general public! Each medal is unique, features native art and is incredibly beautiful and very heavy. I want one. (Preferably gold, like Amy’s please.)

Another victory: I scored sweet, suite tickets to the hockey game courtesy of Getty Images! (Thanks Jim!) Along with nine other incredibly lucky Getty Images employees, I got to witness an amazing game with a VIP view from our swanky suite. (Note: the beer prices were equally swanky: $60 for a 6 pack of Molson!!) But no one was complaining as we watched the Russians beat the Czechs 4-2. What a weekend!
