Hello! My name is Lindsay Morris and I’m a Photo Research Editor at Getty Images. I won the internal Getty Images Olympic video contest and the prize is getting to work with the Getty Images team at the Olympics for a week in Vancouver! I have always loved the Olympics, especially the Winter Olympics, and I feel so incredibly lucky to be here.
I left from New York City on Monday night and my flight to Vancouver was great – I got the coveted window seat with an empty middle seat next to me (score!) and landed a little before 1am– wide awake. I knew it was going to be a good trip when I got into the taxi and ‘Bad Romance’ by Lady Gaga started playing (shout out to my girls “rah- rah ah-ah-ah”) . I checked into my hotel room – which is bigger than my apt, (seriously…) and knew I should sleep but I couldn’t. I could hear the bustle of fans still cheering in the streets and I was so excited to jump right in.
This morning I got my credentials (which are almost as good as gold here) and headed into the Getty Images office in the Vancouver Convention Centre. Everyone has been so good to me – so good, that tonight I get to go see the figure skating pairs free program! As a childhood figure skater this is a dream come true. I will be blogging throughout my week here and I want to say a special hello to the “Research Village” from the Olympic Village- I miss you guys!
