Michael Jackson… In Your Words

Hulton Archive/Getty Images
As promised, we have delivered a few more shots of our mourned pop icon to www.gettyimages.com. Above, Jackson sits in a New York City subway car in 1987 during the filming of the Martin Scorsese directed music video; Bad.
Everyone has a Michael story. Maybe his album was the first one you bought with your own money because your parents wouldn’t. Maybe you sat next to him wearing a disguise on bus in Florida (as my aunts co-worker did). Perhaps you saw him browsing the aisles at Virgin Mega Store like it was the most natural thing in the world. What does Michael Jackson mean to you? See more unearthed Michael Jackson imagery here.

I remember watching Michael Jackson performing on the Ed Sullivan Show, and I was about 5 years old, sitting there with my grandparents watching him and his brothers put on an awesome performance. My grandparents experienced the Great Depression, WWII, and racism against Blacks in the United States. You could imagine what we were feeling as a Black family watching Michael and his blood brothers on National TV in 1959 perform in our livingroom Live! A lot of black people didn’t even have TV’s, but we did. My grandfather always said, that when I Black man perfected something, he would run circles around a white man. And was not never lying about that.
THE LIFE AND LEGEND OF MICHAEL JACKSON WILL GO ON FOREVER AND HE WILL BE TAUGHT IN THE SCHOOLS AND IN THE HISTORY BOOKS, LIKE SHAKESPEARE AND EINSTEIN, THOMAS EDISON, AND PRESIDENTS!
WE LOVE YOU MIKE, AND WE NEVER FORGET YOU!

Everything ….. he has given so much and it is part of the fabric of my life – poetry, art, music, dance, song and love to each and every one of us on this planet. Because of him I am a better person, right down to the charities and children’s lives I am involved with.
We need to share the love around the world, just like he taught us – we make so many new friends on all the fan sites it is wonderful. Seeing all the youngsters enthralled by him, just as we were is so exciting – his legacy will live on and hopefully the amazing humanitarian that he was – will one day be acknowledged by the media.
God bless you Michael RIP – It’s all for love …… L.O.V.E.
