Graphic Content At Cannes

French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg and her husband Yvan Attal arrive for the screening of the movie “Antichrist” directed by Danish director Lars Von Trier in competition at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2009. Gainsbourg, known for her cool, rock tinged, bohemian style was considerably more dressed up for the Cannes premiere of Antichrist than she was for the photo call earlier in the day, but was decidedly casual in a figure skimming, runched graphic print mini-dress and strappy, power heels. Fellow Cannes stars such as Abbie Cornish were decked out in frills, trains and chiffon on their special night, but Gainsbourg played it low key. Antichrist, also starring Willem Dafoe polarized Cannes audiences with its graphic scenes of sex to the extent of eliciting simultaneous boos and cheers. Gainsbourg’s dress combines two trends we have been seeing lately, graphic print dresses and animal prints. Was Charlotte’s style appropriate for a festival such as Cannes? See more photos here.
