Rumors of marital trouble abound, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz made a very public display of affection at the podium of the Vodafone MTV Australia Awards. Might they be too young to remember the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards kiss between Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley? Hoping the kiss does not share the same fate.

Britney Spears shared a kiss with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. In 2004 Britney would marry and annul childhood friend Jason Alexander and announce her engagement to Kevin Federline.
