Charo was doing her thing at The Producer’s VIP Reception at The Winter Music Conference at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa on March 25, 2009 in Miami Beach, Florida. She has been doing this sort of kitschy Spanish Sex kitten act since the 1960′s and it has neither changed nor lost it’s impact. She has moved from novelty to kitsch to irony by staying exactly the same.
María Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Moquiere de les Esperades Santa Ana Romanguera y de la Najosa Rasten, better known as Charo may be as old as 68 but she looks better than women half her age. While she is a caricature of sorts, known to wear something that is ruffled, feathered, sequined, strapless or otherwise outrageous, the Spanish performer is actually a very accomplished guitarist. She has been named “Best Flamenco Guitarist” twice by Guitar Player Magazine’s readers poll.
