(Top) Actress Geraldine Chaplin poses during the photocall for Imago mortis by Italian film director Stefano Bessoni on January 13, 2009 in Rome. Geraldine stars in the Italian Film Horror film with her daughter Oona Chaplin. Both of these women are descendants of Charlie Chaplin and on their mother’s side, playwright, Eugene O’Neil. True Hollywood royalty!
In 1965, when the lower photo was taken, Geraldine had just finished Doctor Zhivago and was about to embark upon a period of productivity into the early 1970′s. Her fragile beauty synced with the mod-gamine aesthetic of the day, and she continued to opt for androgynous pixie outfits into later life. Chaplin’s career kept at a regular pace with roles in her husband, Carlos Suara’s, films as well as those by Robert Altman’ and Pedro Almodovar. The photo below was taken twenty years later than the one above it, around the time that Geraldine gave birth to her daughter Oona.
