One Girl’s Trashbag Is Another Girl’s Treasure

Last week Brandy got some flack for wearing a Lanvin dress that resembled a plastic garbage bag to the Conde Nast Media Group’s Fifth Annual Fashion Rocks concert. Though the dress didn’t come off particularly well, it was in keeping with a recent rash of rubbish-chic displays. Nicole Richie picked a shiny, black, tulip skirt to wear to the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 09 show, though the fabric was slightly less derivative of a plastic sack and today Australian designers, One Fell Swoop, showed a dress that worked a similar “fresh-from-the-dumpster” vibe during the WA Designer Collections 1 & 2 show.
