Goal! What makes a good goal picture?

For me it’s a bit like making a omelette. Eggs, cheese, onion and a little chilli. My perfect omelette!

It’s the same for a goal picture – there are four main ingredients and when you put them all together you have the ‘perfect’ goal picture (not necessarily the perfect picture).

So, take one goal scorer (in this case Henrik Larsson of Sweden), one goalkeeper, (Paul Robinson of England) and then mix together with the two missing ingredients. One is obviously the ball. The other, which is often over-looked, but for me makes the picture complete, is the goal post. The goal post helps us place the other ingredients in the right context. You can see that it’s a goal and not just another missed chance.

Like I told you on BBC weblog, congratulations for this picture, I really like the face of all players.

What an excellent shot, even though I was gutted when Sweden scored… *sighs*
